History of New River Casual Furniture

New River Casual Furniture was born in 2005, is a Virginia-based corporation and proudly serves the international marketplace with a full line of outdoor furnishings made from "Jatoba," commonly referred to as "Brazilian Cherry." Distribution is managed from a 65,000 square foot facility in Virginia Beach, VA, that also houses our offices, logistics, product development and customer service.

Our factory partner, DABOL, founded in 1977, is well-known and respected in both North and South America for upscale hotel, interior and outdoor furnishings. This also includes the commercial aspects of the hospitality market. Dabol has working relationships with many major hotel and banking institution projects including Bank Of Boston, Blue Tree Convention, Hilton, Royal Palm Plaza, JP Morgan, Delano Hotel, Miami Beach, Sofitel Hotel & Resorts, and the Hyatt Corporation.

Factory

About 16 years ago, DABOL was approached to manufacture a new line of furniture made for outdoor use... primarily rocking chairs, benches, swings, gliders, plus a few specialty pieces.

Finished Pieces

In 2005, New River Casual Furniture entered the market with multiple collections of Deep Seating, a wide array of dining options, all with innovative designs and excellent comfort.

In 2007, New River Casual Furniture entered the casual furniture industry with the first water-based, eco-friendly finish created exclusively for outdoor wood furniture. This factory-applied multi-coat finish which we call RÊVE™, French for "To Dream" because until Rêve, people could only dream of outdoor wood furniture that required no maintenance for 3 years and after that, only minimal maintenance. This finish is revolutionizing the wood furniture category and is now available on most New River furniture.
